    CURRENT SERMON SERIES

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I -

I took the one less traveled by,

And that has made all the difference.

“Road Not Taken” by Robert Frost (1874 – 1963)

This famous American poem beautifully describes the times in our lives when we face a crossroads and need to make a decision. The advice offered by Robert Frost is clear: if you choose the option that fewer people choose, that will make “all the difference” in your life.

Frost’s poem is so memorable and so powerful because he is tapping into an eternal truth. Taking the road less travelled was a concept described 1900 years earlier by Jesus Christ.

Jesus said, "Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many.  For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few” (Matthew 7:13-14).

Jesus is careful to remind us that majority does not rule; God rules. And we need to follow His word and His Spirit through the gate that is narrow and the way that is hard even though the majority of people seem to be choosing the wide and easy way of the world. In this sermon series we’ll be following in the footstep of Jesus along this “Narrow Way” that “leads to life”.

Every time we’re faced with a decision, we can choose to please God or to please the flesh and world. Since we come to this crossroads in just about every decision that we make, we’ll be looking at what God’s word has to say about a variety of areas in our lives, from faith to finances and from actions to attitudes.  We’ll be digging deep into God’s word and taking a good look at our lives to make sure we’re steering clear of the road that leads to destruction and walking with Jesus on the narrow and hard road that leads to life!
